What is Two Rivers Golf Club?

Two Rivers Golf Club has been around for almost 25 years. In 1993, Norm Leyte and a few state employees created a plan for state-employed golfers to have fun and meet other employees. That was when the California Lotto Golf Club, as it was then known, was born. The following year, the club changed the rules of membership so that it was open to all who enjoyed golf and wanted to play.

In 2000, the club changed its name to Two Rivers Golf Club. Today, the club is a mixture of all kinds of golfers with high and low handicaps, but they all want to have fun. The club is based out of Sacramento, CA. At present, we have 90 members; 22 are women, and 68 are men; the club has nine couples.

Two Rivers Golf Club is an Associate Club member of the NCGA, which means we do not have a home course. The club has 12 tournaments at different golf courses throughout the Sacramento area. TRGC plays golf tournaments every three weeks starting in February through September.

The club also has three out-of-town trips each year, where members play tournaments on two consecutive days at two different area golf courses. The club plays in Monterey, CA in March or April. In October, the club has an overnight weekend trip to Reno, NV. We usually stay at a nicer resort in Reno. We offer several packages to choose from, and it is a great opportunity to have a lot of fun and get to know the other members better. Most recently, the club added a trip to Carson City, NV in June, where we stay at the Gold Dust West in the middle of the week.

The club tries to have additional tournaments in the middle of the week for members who are retired or can get a day off from work. These tournaments are played at outstanding courses like Yocha Dehe or Rancho Solano. We negotiate good deals at these courses, so members can play great courses at a discount.

At the end of October, the club also has a fun tournament and luncheon open to all members. The format for this final tournament is a scramble, and various awards and prizes are given out, including the Lou Mucci Memorial Trophy and the Club Champion Trophy.

Two Rivers Golf Club is currently taking applications for new members for the 2018 season. The club’s goal is to have members who want to have fun, meet great people, and play golf. All golfers are invited to play in any of our tournaments as a guest to see if they would like to become a member.
